Short Occult story of a Family Conven
The Box

The pearl white, 64 ½ mustang convertible speeds down the empty highway; inside the car a woman with hazel eyes and long dark brunette hair watches the road with her music turned up full blast.

Driving down the empty highway memories of seven years ago come back to her. She recalls all the details very quickly; her great grandmother died. Two weeks after the funeral the whole family met with the lawyer for the reading of her will. Her great grandmother was very generous to everyone whenever they needed something but she, herself, had never asked for a thing from her at all. The only thing that she asked her great grandmother was why she was absolutely different from everyone else in the family.

Everyone was happy with what was left to each of them. She was the last to receive hers. The lawyer brought out an old chest banded in solid brass and decorated with real precious stones. The whole family just looked at her. It shocked her, but then the lawyer told her that the chest and any contents within were hers. He then handed her a key, but asked for her to wait for a few minutes before opening it.

The lawyer then looked at each person of the family before him. He told them that if they tried to contest the contents of the chest that they would be stripped of their portion of the inheritance and would be given to charity. No one said a word about it as they all in the past had received some type of help from their benefactor, and also knew that she had never asked for help, except to spend time with her. Everyone shouted at the lawyer to let her see what she has received from their great grandmother.

The lawyer smiled at everyone, and was happy so far. He, then, let her open this apparent treasured antique chest.

She looked at everyone in the room, and then put the skeleton key into the lock. As she turned the key, noticing the turning was very easy, and hearing the tumblers clicking, signaling that it was open. She slowly lifts the lid and peer into it. She saw a rather thick, large book, a few stacks of one hundred dollar bills, a small jewelry box and a large manila envelope.

She then reached in and brought out all of the contents and lays them out on the table. No one says anything except her mother asking to open the large envelope. She smiles at her mother as she reaches for the jewelry box and opens it to find a necklace. Slowly she brings it out to find at the very end of the chain a pendant made of gold with a ruby set in the middle. She stares at it in amazement and beauty then she notices the strange markings on it. At that very moment her mother gets up from her chair and stands right beside her.

Everyone at the table produce smiles upon the faces as they look upon her. “Okay everyone,” begins her mother. “Our great grandmother finally has found the full blooded one in the whole family to carry on the tradition of our religion that none of us was able to. She told me a couple of years ago when it had come to full light to her. Now all of us have something to do which it must be done within a certain time frame. Everyone here must prepare and be ready for that time.” She then looks down to her daughter and tells her tp out the pendant on and to never take it off for anything.

She looks at her mother with questions in her eyes but the look on her mothers face said that they could wait for a little while. Her mother then sits down as she puts the pendant on. Then without a notion a man stands up and begins to speak.

“Everyone is here now so I will say this; the proper time is in two weeks time and since I am the oldest I must conduct this ceremony. All of you will be contacted by her mother of when and where. Also remember that any of you choose not to show what the consequences are. Also if that comes to happen it will come seven times worse than the last time it happened because her daughter is the seventh generation of fullness. That is all I have to say.” He then sits down without saying another word.

The girl then opens the envelope and empties the contents out onto the table. A pile of papers and two sets of keys fall out. She looks thru the papers to find a title to the 64 ½ convertible mustang and the deed to all of the property. She then opens another paper giving her details about the house and how the house is self supporting plus all the staff. Also at the bottom of this certain page telling her that she must present herself to a certain person on the staff and she would be informed of everything else that is hers now. She didn’t say anything else after that. Her hand reaches for the tome lying on the table. The moment her hand comes into contact with it she feels a comforting come over her that she has felt only one time before. That certain time before was with her great grandmother when she had taught her something very special to her.

Everyone watched her and she could tell that everyone was happy with the will except for one person. She could feel the eyes of hate emanating toward her. She looked at each person and found that certain person. Locking eyes with each other both of them could feel the heat building between the two of them. Suddenly her mother notices what is going on and quickly squeezes her leg to break the contact between them. Quickly she turns to her mother and smiles at her but doesn’t say anything.

She pulls the tome in front of her and stares down at it but doesn’t open it all. For some reason she knew not to because something would happen that no-one in the family would like at all. Still feeling her mother’s hand on her knee she puts the tome and everything else back into the chest. She then closes the lid on the chest while her other hand wraps around the pendant that she has put on a few minutes ago.

Her mother stands up and she does the same. Without any word to anyone the both of them proceed to leave when the lawyer stops them both. He then turns to the rest of the family and tells them that everything from here on out is for daughter and mother to hear.

Not one person said a word after he says that. He also tells them all that the secretary will hand each of them legal documents to sign before leaving. At that moment everyone in the family starts to leave.

Now the daughter and mother are standing in the conference room with the lawyer. He kindly asks them to sit back down. They do so as he brings out a remote control and points it to the wall on their left side.

A portion of the wall moves to the side and a TV slides out. Another click off the remote the TVs screen jumps to life with her great grandmothers face. Both of them look at the lawyer quickly when he motions for the both of them back to the screen. He then discretely leaves the room.

Each of them watch and listen to her great grandmother on the screen. She explained a lot of things to her great granddaughter and her granddaughter as they both cried. She also explained down to detail of the one that would not show for the traditional ceremony. She continued with what must be done would not work as they have in the past generations before them. Her great grandmother then told her that it is now up to her to find a way to punish the one that has gone against the family. After this she tells her granddaughter that she must help her wherever possible and to give her the tome that was entrusted to you a long time ago. She then said that she would see them in the beyond when it would be their time. The TV went blank and the lawyer walks back into the room.

“I trust that the two of you will discretely keep everything to yourselves of what you know now of the adversary. Also there is a complete on this certain person that she asked me to put together. There is also a computer disk that must be given to you Sandra. She instructed that after you read it that you either transcribe to your own alphabet or commit it to memory and then destroy the disk.”

Sandra looks at him with a look of amazing mystery but yet perplexed look in her face. Sandra’s mother looks at the lawyer with sock reading all over her face.

Without thinking of it anymore she quickly takes the exit off the highway. Taking a left turn she follows the road for about three miles and pulls into the gas station. She fills the mustang and pays the cashier quickly and is back on the road.

Driving down the dark road with just the headlights and stars to see by a strange uneasy feeling creep upon her. Quickly she shakes off this feeling and sends out her senses to find out where this could be coming from.

Within minutes she quickly receives an unexpected answer;

“Come to me. It’s time for you to turn everything over to me as it should have been done years ago.” This voice comes in loud and clear as if the person is in the car with her.

She quickly notices whom this person is and sends a reply right back. “Just wait; I am well prepared to deal with you traitor of the family. No-one in the family may have not been able to defeat you, but I shall.” Just as she sent the message back she laces within the words shocks of electricity equal to that of 220 volts.

Quickly the car leaps forwards as the accelerator hits the floor topping the max speed and beyond. Within a few short minutes she yanks the wheel to the right onto a stone road. Keeping control of the car from fish tailing she continues down the private road for just a few miles.

Suddenly she lets the car slow down as an old Victorian plantation house comes into view. As the mansion comes into closer view she sends out a telepathic message to those people inside to vacate the premises except for one person.

She pulls up to the mansion in a screeching holt of the car. Without thought she turns the car off and is out within a blink of an eye. Jumping steps as runs up the steps she sees a lot of her help running out of the front door and making their way to the garage.

Sandra crosses the threshold of the mansion just as the last of her help makes it out.

“It’s about time you got here,” comes an old voice from the very last trusted employee. “Everything started about five minutes ago. Who ever this; it is not good at all,” continues the voice but only closer this time to Sandra.

“yes, I know all of it Mary. We have already spoken to one another.” Sandra says this just as they both stop in front of each other. “Do you have everything ready and everything else in a secure place?”

“Yes, Sandra; everything was completed a couple of days ago. Also here is the control box that you asked for.” Mary hands her the box, “Now I shall make my leave until you call for me to come back Sandra.”

“What are you still here for then. Get out!” shouts Sandra.

Sandra stands there for a second as Mary runs out of the mansion. She in turn dashes off further into the mansion and thru another set of doors leading her out into the fields. She runs for about two more minutes and stops dead in her tracks.

She looks around seeing the mansion off in the distance. Without warning she feels electricity collecting in the air about her with sparks flying about her. Then she looks up to the starry night seeing the clouds rapidly increasing in speed as they clash and roll upon one another.

Lightning strikes the ground five feet in front of her making her jump back about a two feet. The ground smokes as the air starts to smell of something foul to her nose.

The smoke clears and a man stands in the same place with long blonde hair dressed in all gray. His eyes glowed with evilness seething back and forth casting an eerie shadow across his mishapened face. He stands there for a few minutes studying Sandra.

“Well what are you waiting for Chris? You are the one that defied the wishes of the whole family and our traditions,” says Sandra with a harsh, sarcastic tone.

“I’m waiting for you to hand over the medallion that was promised to me long before you came along,” says Chris with his eyes becoming more vibrant evil showing thru. “Just hand it over and nothing shall befall you. I’ll even leave the lands intact as they have been for generations, Sandra.”

“Do you honestly think that I would give it to you that easily. You somehow found a way around the punishment since you didn’t attend the ritual, but you will be surprised by what has been learned and created by me.”

“Sandra, please, do not even try to intimidate me with what great grandmother has taught you. None of it will work against me or the power I have. Just give me the medallion and I will leave,” says Chris in an angry tone.

“My, my; are we becoming mad now. What a shame for you. You would be surprised what technology can do for our arts,” says Sandra with a taunting cheerful snicker in her voice.

“I tire of these little word games with you, Sandra.” Just as he finishes speaking a crimson red comes forth from his hands straight for Sandra.

As the crimson read beam makes its way to Sandra she brings out the small control box that was handed to her. She presses a switch and the control box opens up just as the beam hits it dead center. The beam finally stops and Sandra stands there with no harm appearant to her.

“I told you Chris, technology and what has been learned and the creations of my design are one hellish combination of power.” She stops for a second to see if she gets something out of Chris but doesn’t. “What do you think of it?”

Chris stands there looking at her while summoning up more energy and power that he has access to. “Impressive little gadget but it still can’t withstand the devastating power that I control.”

“You will be surprised at what can be done especially when it is created and made by your own hands.”

Sandra stands there waiting for his next move. Chris stops to think of what she just said and shouted some ancient word in an old tongue that she recognizes.

Chris raises his hands instantly to the sky and a crystal blue static jumps around in a ball between his hands. Sandra continues to stand there holding the box in front of her.

Without warning a lightning bolts fire into the air striking all around Sandra. One of the bolts hits the box but it breaks apart into splinters falling to the ground. The bolts continue to fly forth from Chris’s ball when Sandra throws the box high into the air in between them.

Sandra stands there looking at Chris when she just starts to chant loud and clear. A loud sounding boom is heard across the night skies as if a supersonic jet had broken the sound barrier.

This makes Chris stop and looks directly into Sandra’s eyes. At that moment a searing blinding flash of white comes across her eyes. Alone this makes Chris take a couple of steps back from being blinded. He regains his sight just as he looks up to the sky seeing the box giving off the same exact light.

Chris then shouts out more words and the lightning bolts intensify but all of them just bounce off Sandra. Chris then watches as they bounce off of her and are immediately sucked up into the box high above them. He then starts thinking what it will take to destroy the box and break the protection that it somehow gives Sandra.

“Aww, Chris it seems that you can’t win. Everything that you have thrown at me does not good at all.” The moment she stops speaking two searing bolts of blinding white light comes straight out of her eyes hitting Chris. This sends Chris flying into the air and landing him several feet hard upon the ground.

He tries to get up but finds that he can’t as a web of white static electricity holds him to the ground. Sandra walks up to him and looks directly down at him with the same searing white eyes. Another set of bolts hit him and he screams in agony as the bolts and web intensifies more.

“Now Chris it is time to put a stop to you and your evil.” She stops in silence for a moment and then continues, “Also you can thank your son for your demise.”

The minute she finishes speaking a doorway opens out of thin air right beside Sandra. A young man walks out dressed in all white wearing an almost identical medallion that she wears.

Seeing his son standing above him he screams once again high enough to pierce anyone’s ears. At that very same moment his sons’ eyes become the same as Sandra’s.

The both of them hit him at the same time making his pain even more unbearable. The without another second Sandra and his son begins to chant the same words. As the chant is said Chriss body begins to float in the air and then with a flash his body is sucked into the box just directly above him.

The box closes and floats down to Sandras’ open hands. She looks at the box that is nothing but a cube with one side clear enough to look in.

Both Sandra and Chris’s son look into it seeing his father receiving the pain that he tried to inflict upon Sandra.

Sandra then looks away from the box to his son, “it is done Carl. He will feel the pain that he has tried to make me and the family feel plus all those that he has hurt these past few years for an eternity.” Just as she begins to the now clear sky tears start to fall from her eyes.

“Why are you crying for him Sandra,” Carl asks.

“The reason is I know feel sorrow and pity for his soul and the torment he shall go thru now,” she says as she wipes the tears away.

“Yes Sandra, in a way I feel the same. In the same token he deserved what he got. Death would have been too good for him.” states Carl.

“Okay Carl, now we must place this with the others that have gone against the family in the past. He will never be able to torment anyone else again.”

Both of them shake their heads in agreement and start walking to the mansion with the box floating in the air in front of them.
