While fireworks are a beautiful expression of freedom I find them more complex then that. |
The War of the Fireworks By: Danie Daniels The crackling of fire It en-lights the soul Thousands of gunshots That makes us whole In the sky is the war The war that will never end All the pain and hate today The love will only descend How can we forgive and forget If we don’t even forgive ourselves For the anger we’ve caused to our lives and to others as well I doubt they’ll forget and neither will we But we can go on with our lives And live happily The death will continue the scars will rage on I can’t find a reason why But we can’t get along Why is anger controlling our lives Why do we break our hearts Just to only find That we’re falling apart We’re all one Together we’ll be complete To end this war We have to admit defeat Love is strong But it’s what we lack It’s the only key That’ll help us fight back. The rage in the sky It gives me great grief While to others it’s amusing I find it’s confusing That we don’t understand That the hate will never end A fury burning in our hearts and souls As the fireworks stop The echo subsides I remember an important thing We can still change our lives With friends by our side The bonds will grow However the secrets that hides We might never know We can re-write the ending we’ve created That only ends in destruction As we realize that we’re all equal Is the first step in correction As songs become pomes and pomes into song I hope in the end we can all get along |
