LAST CHAPTER

St. Mary’s Building was swarming with cops when the sun had arisen. The janitor called them. He had found the door to the rooftop open. Students weren’t allowed up there because the railings were rusty and the owner didn’t want anyone falling off the edge.

Muttering about stubborn students, the janitor climbed up the stairs to check. He found someone sitting at the end of the roof, leaning against the lone railing at the edge. His legs were pulled up against him; his arms wrapped around his legs; his face buried under his arms.

The janitor, thinking it was someone who got stuck at the top and fell asleep, approached the boy and tried to shake him awake. The boy fell to the side and the janitor almost fell at the edge at the sight that greeted him.

It was the body of the famous Tyson Weatherpark. His eyes were wide open, the pupils reduced to small dots stuck at the top of his eyes; his mouth was open, frozen in a soundless shriek that could only be of extreme terror.

Directly opposite of the dead student was the lone building at the roof, the former morgue, with the heavy iron door wide open revealing the dusty, cobwebbed, and tiled room.

Classes were immediately cancelled but this did not hinder some students who wanted to know what had happened to their school idol. ‘I heard he had a heart attack.’ One student said as they watched the ambulance people bring down the body of the famous Tyson Weatherpark, ‘I wonder what could’ve scared him so much. I never thought him to be a scaredy cat’

‘They said the room upstairs was wide open but they wouldn’t tell what was inside.’ A student beside him said.

‘It was exactly what he was afraid of.’ A pale black haired girl they had never seen before said. She was staring unblinkingly at the door to the roof.

‘What?’ both boys chorused.

The girl looked at them, her cold eyes staring; sending shivers down their spines ‘Nothing. The room was empty. There was nothing inside.’ She turned around and left.
