It Is Time

It is Time

Trapped in an impossible place yet again.
When will I learn?
How will I free myself this time?
How many times will I get burned?

I just keep coming right back into the fire.
I need to start playing it safe instead.
Putting needs in front of desires,
Stop following my heart and start following my head.

I am worth more than I’ve been accepting.
My beautiful babies are, too.

I’ve never put us above all the others.
I’ve never truly known how to.

It is time to break these chains
And do whatever it is I have to do.

It is time to rise above
This place I’ve gotten us in to.
