Half of a Century

I am "Half of a Century"


Today is my First day being fifty.

An eye opening day in a strange
kind of way.  A kind of day
that is new to me.

A day I am thrilled and blessed
to see. 

The new day of another Half of
a Century.

I could be feeling sad thinking
I am getting old.

Or I could be grateful, and let
it be told. 

Told to any and
everyone that I see.

That today, I am Happy, beautiful,
black and free.

And, by the way,  Half of a
Century.
