To Tears

Breaking down at broken dawn
As starry hues collide
Letting go of what had been
Bottled up inside

Veiling sight and mind alike
The teardrops fill the air
Crystal shields to hide away
And stand up as they stare

And as our prayers tumble down
Reflected from the sun
Our inner thoughts and turmoil dear
Of what had just begun,

Tear apart and look within
And spill their crimson stars
Glimmers hope of dark despair
And love beyond the scars,

Reside within a single tear
Their gentle pixie dust
To fill the gem with half a heart
Embroidered with our trust

And thus our teardrops fall away
Released without a sound
To bundle up the bitter edge
To crash into the ground

But, oh, these tears are bittersweet
Caught in a web of lies
As love caresses pain away
And captures false goodbyes

So broken tears, to you I smile
You mark my moments true
As tears are but my liquid dreams
A gift from me to you
