Kanye West- Pre/Post Swift Incident

'Jesus Walks' Kanye:

Early in his professional career, West was least arrogant. He was still a baby, in terms of his stardom.

'Stronger' Kanye:

Although it was veiled as Kanye finally gaining 'confidence' in himself, he was actually beginning to grow a tumor of conceit.

Notes-
On July 3, 2007, West told Zane Lowe on BBC Radio 1 that although he believes "Stronger" is a great song, it does not compare to the sampled original. Daft Punk were delighted upon first hearing the new song on Power 106 while on a San Francisco flight. As Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo of the duo stated, "Our song had a good sound, but when [the radio DJ] put Kanye's record on, the sound was really fat. It sounds really big."(1) The use of "Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger" was requested through Pedro Winter, Daft Punk's manager at the time, and approved by the duo.(2)

The song was also named the number one record of 2007 in the January 2008 issue of Spin magazine with Kanye West and Daft Punk presiding on the cover.(3)

'Heartless' Kanye:

This marked the apex of Kanye's arrogance, quite possibly due to his winning the 'I Am Hip Hop' icon award.

The song was performed for the first time at the ONE Campaign concert during the 2008 Democratic National Convention in Denver, Colorado. (Aug 25-28, 2008)

An acoustic interpretation of the song was performed by American Idol season 8 winner Kris Allen as his personal pick for the Top 3 night of the show's eighth season. (May 20, 2009)

This song was recorded after the Taylor Swift incident, and after Kanye made various apologies to both Taylor and the public for his arrogant streak.

Was West always a prick? No.
Has he been? Yes.
Is he attempting to make a change, something celebrities rarely actually do? Yes.
Does that mean we have the right, as the public, to spread lies, slander, and libel about him and make his coming to graces more difficult than it should be? NO.
Am I still pissed about him making those ****ing ridiculous 'shutter shades' popular? !!!YES!!!<Photo 1>
