The Walls and the Princess Up in her tower protected by walls Dazing at the future, a glimpse of a freed being Scared little princess, becoming a queen Shake your hair out, let it down Make him climb to the top, scale your chamber Scream to him "go get your princess! She's your queen, she's gonna save you, but get there fast!" Locked up by Lover, wanting control he refuses to see a woman becoming whole Oh Lover you shoulda, coulda, woulda seen her for her But silly you, you should have cut off those locks sooner Gazing daily to see the white horse in the distance Princesses and walls don't mix. She needs an explosion Here she goes, letting it down. shake it out baby, he's coming! Horse shoe percussion are echoing off the walls. The beat means it's near But why wait? Maybe she should jump. She wants to bust the hell out She's too scared to fall, to fail, instead she longs for the climber Jumping is faster, to the Princes' embrace, she'll live. Come on Rapunzel get off that thrown! Be a damn queen! Peek out that window, Sir is down there. Time to choose What will be, Princess? Jump or climb? He's going to reach you Cross the room, run little girl run Get out the window! Don't wait! He's there! Get him, leap lovely Falling, freeing, screaming, dreaming, loving, learning. The ground is closer Safety! See where you landed? Open those blues Saddle sharing, trotting, embracing, the sunset is yours Little princess, you are a queen who flew from her tower You let your own walls down |
