Two childhood friends meet up after not seeing each other for more than ten years
So many years went by,

We were lost to each other for so many years,

At least a decade went by until we saw each other again,

We both walked into that room,

A small part of us hoping the other hadn’t changed,

Oh,

How that small hope was crushed,

Instead of seeing the childhood friend I left behind,

I saw a stranger,

A beautiful stranger,

Someone who was past the awkward stages of childhood,

And well into the stages of beauty,

All children with awkward bodies earn,

He was beautiful,

And I,

Well,

I wasn’t,

I was still the same person I was when I left,

Both in my body,

And my feelings for him,

How he felt about me though,

I don’t know,

All I know is that,

Seeing him,

Seeing that,

Beautiful stranger,

Crushed all my hopes of us reuniting our childhood friendship,

He was just too beautiful,

Just too beautiful for someone like me
