The Experiment


It first happened behind a sister’s locked bedroom door. Un-permitted temptation had taken its toll long enough. First came the awkward bends and jolts of the stilettos. Then came the spider-like eyelashes and maroon lipstick. “But what would my brother say if he ever knew?”,  the thought raced  through his mind.


The Abduction

The brown faces turned away as if shy, gazing upward towards the welcoming sun. Suddenly, a man was amongst them, and helplessly they waited for one of their brothers to be plucked and taken. Then as quickly as he had come, the man was gone, and the field of sunflowers was one less.
