The Sun and the Moon

the distance is unsettling
bringing forth a fervor of distress
your wants are not my wants
but all this time i hide behind a veneer

one day the sky will rip apart
the moon won't be the moon
the sun will be a speck
and all that was us will quickly disappear

the world will go on without our being
a little less bright and sweet
but oh! the joy of being renewed again
makes our purpose here so clear
