I don't understand Your love
How could You delight in me?
This sinner, stained, I'll always be.
You know I never seem to see
The ways in which You treasure me.

Must my spirits be so low?
As I tread this path of wear and woe
I never seem to let it go.
Or is it just that I don't know?

Just show me how to win the race.
Give me a glimpse of Your fair face.
Show me a sign, give me a taste.
Do not let me go to waste.

For if I become nothing more
Than a child only You adore
Who sees You from Your ocean's shore
Then never will I need something more!
