A poem about letting go.
You said you loved me and that is why you are letting me go.
You said the fantasy would never come true.
You said I would never marry you.
What has this time done to you?
You ran away, it is all the same.
You lied to me.
You tried to hide it from me.
I see past the mask you wear.
I see what you will never admit.
That you care.
You said everything is on the line.
Haven't we walked the gray before?
I stood in the airport, watching you walk away.
You never turned around.
My heart is too dark to care.
I can't destroy what isn't there.
If I can change I hope I never know.
All of that was ripped apart, when you said you wouldn't fight.
It is not me alone you hurt.
I wish I could hurt you in the end.
But my soul screams no whenever I utter your name.
It will always be the same.
If you love me let me go.
