Samantha’s Departure

I’m sorry I was angry,
I’m sorry was scared,
I’m sorry that I felt as though
No one ever cared

I’m sorry that it came to this,
I’m sure that you are too,
I hope you know deep down inside,
That I’m a part of you

I had to leave this necklace,
It used to be our ‘thing’
I’m sorry I replaced it,
With his diamond ring

Please return it to him,
Tell him I'm sorry too,
But this note right here,
This alone’s for you…

Those nights we spent together
Underneath the stars,
I wished we could go back to that:
Finding who we are

I’m sorry I got angry,
I’m sorry I got scared,
I’m sorry that I never realized
You were always there

Now I’m always with you
The way I swore it’d be,
Now whenever you look up,
I hope you’ll think of me

So go on with this game called life—
I’m watching from above,
I pray when you gaze at the stars
You’re filled with hope and love

I know this will be hard for you,
But look up at the sky,
Knowing you the way I do,
Tears are in your eyes
Now I’m flying high above you
High up in the sky,
I hope you know I’m free now;
And there’s no need to cry

And now I can see you,
You’re small, so far away,
You’re smiling at the star,
But knowing you the way I do,
The tears are in your heart…

But now I’m always with you,
The way I swore I’d be,
And now whenever you look up,
I know you think of me.
