The ancient tombs showed these things. What would Seri do?
“He’s changed,” Seri growled.

“More like transformed,” Lupo responded.

“When did this happen? Who found him?”

“The midnight guard at sun up. You know this is the day of light. Five hours of brightness. I wonder…”

“Wonder what? He’s some kind of monster. That’s what he is. What does the day have anything to do with it?”

“It’s just curious. You know the old tombs and what they say.”

“Nonsense!” Seri’s teeth bared. He stepped forward into Lupo’s face. “That stuff is bunk. I don’t want you to go around scaring the women like that.”

“Yes, sir. We found something curious though. He had this on.”

“Isn’t that?”

“Yes. It’s a shoe.” He placed the ancient foot covering on a nearby table.

“We haven’t wore those for decades.”

“I know. It’s just the tombs…”

“Enough! I want this thing executed. Take him out of the cell and let the community rip him to shreds. They can even feed on his flesh if they so desire.”

“I don’t think that’ll happen, sir. They’re… well… afraid of him. He used to be one of them.”

“What was his name anyway? I don’t remember his family in the pack.”

“He’s in the line of Lon Chaney.”

“Figures. Descendants of one of the sacred tomb names. The most foolish of them all. I remember that one.” Seri looked between the bars of the prison cell. He squinted his eyes. “Yes. He looks just like that creature…” His voice trailed off.

“Sir?” Lupo’s fur stood on end.

“No. We can’t have the werewolf pack thinking that. We must preserve our heritage. We can’t have a smooth-skinned creature changing that. I’ll kill this one, and I want you to burn down the sacred temple where the tombs are. The pack and the night have always ruled.”
