A poem about writing.
There’s a book that I have read,
Written by someone who’s dead.
An authors words will never die,
Though she has said her last goodbye.

In her book this author said,
Writing starts in an authors head.
A little thought persists and grows,
Where it ends nobody knows.

A little thought becomes a word,
Written down then read and heard.
It may be poetry or prose
Or dressed up like a pretty rose.

Many stories have been told,
Written by authors young and old.
Authors are judged by those who read,
Their judgement determines who will succeed.

If a work is written well
There’s a chance that it will sell.
Selling writing is a dream
Writers include in their scheme.

But some folks write to give expression,
To their thoughts, like a confession.
Satisfaction can be found
When the words are written down.
