The last entry in the Whisper in the Wind collection |
The snow covered ground sparkles like diamonds White trees shimmering like ice laden glass Each branch reflects an image, a memory Some painful and others joyful I can see my breath even though the air is not chilled Yet the snow falls and grows in depth on the ground A hint of jasmine, lavender, cherry blossom tickle my nose (scents of you) The only sun here is the bright moon Illuminating the this white forest so elegantly This forest is like a dream that isn't a dream One that I don't want to end, I feel you here With a hope that I can see your face again I can't hide behind my fake smiles here I am true here, knowing where I belong, afraid of only never seeing you again As I wonder this vast, never ending white forest lost and alone I dream of seeing you again Remembering how much I loved, and do love you although you are gone resting against a tree, I begin to cry as I long for you Watching my memories reflecting in the branches of the trees The hole left in my heart helps me see everything that I took for granted Reflecting everything that I missed As my tears fall down my face and crash to the snowy ground My yearning heart beats more heavily as I lose control of my emotions Watching my tears sink into the snow Watching them give life to a single stem, as the bud starts to blossom A beautiful rose, blood red and bright in glorious color Cautiously plucking it from the ground and taking in its aromatic fragrance It smells like you, and I remember holding you close Soon another rose pushes its way through the soft, gentle snow Leading me on my way into the forest, deeper and further into this dream To the heart of the forest, stopping beside a lake calm as smooth as newly formed glass Jasmine, lavender, and cherry blossom the smells catch my attention and direct me As I turn I see falling cherry blossoms and hear the wind whispering around me Upon seeing the sweet vortex of cherry blossoms, I see your face Losing my breath, completely stop breathing as your presence makes me aghast Watching you move toward me, extending your arms touching my face With such a tender touch I melt Missing you so much I cry as you lean forward and kiss me, so gently You tell me, "Move on my love, awake from this dream. I am safe, waiting for you by the eastern gate" you push the dozen roses into my chest As you walk away you turn and whisper, "I love you now and forevermore" As you disappear into the swirling cherry blossoms The forest begins to fade away to black Screaming, "I love you too baby, don't go" I awake with a startle, realizing I am in my bed and morning has come Alarmed by a sharp pain in my hands I look and see that I am holding the dozen blood red roses And jasmine, lavender, and cherry blossoms permeate the air Seeing your picture surrounded by the beautiful blossoms I wonder as I wonder if it was really a dream or if you were hear A single solitary wisp of wind blows into my room Whispering, "I love you" Gary "Xqsnr" Jackson |
