This is a personnel experience , when adopting my son.
.

.

I knew you were mine before your birth.

I cherished you before we met.

I had my plans to greet you set.

The waiting was heartbreaking.

You already had a place in my heart.

At times I smiled, at times I cried.

Thoughts of you filled my day and my mind.

Tears of joy I cried, as the final papers arrived.

Packing, I rocked and sang sweet lullaby's.

All for you my tiny treasure.

The plane ride was much to long.

But, gazing at your picture made me strong.

I finally arrived and my arms ached to hold you.

At lighting speed I flew to the hospital.

I ran, like a woman possessed, to the infant's ward.

The nurse said wait, oh, what cruel fate.

Finally my treasured baby was placed in my arms.

My tears flowed freely.

God had his plan.

The circle was complete.

He placed an angel in my arms,

so precious and so sweet.

Thou you were born of another,

Our bond is one.

United in God's loving heart.

I received this priceless treasure.

This adopted child.

A gift of love and happiness.

A child grown in my heart.
