The spring air fresh,
  and the sunlight aglow.
The children at home,
  with nowhere to go.

Pack up a picnic,
  grab all your gear!
I've got an idea,
  let's get out of here!

A road-trip to nowhere!
  Nothing special to see.
Just heading up north,
  to the lake and the trees.

So just jump in the car,
  come on, let's go!
Don't ask where we're headed,
  I really don't know!

The time moving slower,
  with each passing car.
Oh, how much longer ?
  We've gone so far!

And the further away
  that we get from our town,
The highway grows lonelier,
  with no one around.

And with every mile,
  the horizon gets smaller.
Mountains fill up the sky,
  as the tress get taller.

Oh, a road-trip to nowhere.
  That's where we should go.
Please take us somewhere,
    that our spirits can grow.
