What Is A Dream ?
DREAM

Thoughts of who I am and can be,
come in whispers in the night.
They leave me breathless and sad.

My soul is telling me," Hurry!",
before it's too late,
and dreams will be all I've had.

I am frightened but curious,
of my amazing dream-self,
Who dwells on wings of eagles,
and eats the fruits of daring.

While I ponder ever serious,
lofty dreams set on a shelf,
Feeling the pings of needles,
of years spent in fear of caring.

A quietness and patience inside me dies,
replaced by desire hot and burning as the Sun.
There is now only to "do", no more "tries",
For in dreams I have seen it can be done.

What is a dream but a supressed thought,
that finds a home in a sleeping head?
Life would be even grander if we sought,
to live them and not dream them instead.

The things we keep in our mind,
are much more than they seem.
Don't leave them in the nightly dust,
dance on them, live them...
DREAM.

author's notes:
It's a shame many Christians look on dreaming as a waste of time. The wise
Christian knows that dreams are valueable. We have to dream before we hope.
If we can dream it and envision it, then we can hope. If we can hope, we will have
faith, if we have faith, we can unlock all of heaven.

C.S. Lewis spun tales of wardrobe closets that lead to a snowy world where
lions spoke, creatures frolicked, and children did the impossible.

Numerous times in the Bible, dreams were given high priority.Daniel interpreted
dreams for other prisoners and for Pharaoh. In ancient Jerusalem,
Jacob layed his head on a stone to sleep. The stone was symbolic of Jesus, the
chief cornerstone the builders rejected. As he slept, he had a dream of angels
ascending and descending a staircase to heaven.

We read about it in Genesis 28:10-19-

Jacob left Beersheba, and went toward Haran. He came to the place and
stayed there that night, because the sun had set. Taking one of the stones
of the place, he put it under his head and lay down in that place to sleep.
And he dreamed that there was a ladder set up on the earth, and the top
of it reached to heaven; and behold, the angels of God were ascending and
descending on it! And behold, the Lord stood above it [or "beside him"] and
said, "I am the Lord, the God of Abraham your father and the God of Isaac;
the land on which you lie I will give to you and to your descendants; and your
descendants shall be like the dust of the earth, and you shall spread abroad
to the west and to the east and to the north and to the south; and by you and
your descendants shall all the families of the earth bless themselves.
Behold, I am with you and will keep you wherever you go, and will bring you
back to this land; for I will not leave you until I have done that of which I
have spoken to you." Then Jacob awoke from his sleep and said,
"Surely the Lord is in this place; and I did not know it."
And he was afraid, and said, "This is none other than the house of God,
and this is the gate of heaven."

Many theologians believe the staircase was a spiraling one,
since angels were both ascending and descending. The deepest part
of mankind is in our DNA. The double-helix is a spiral that was crafted by God.
The path to heaven is within the spirit of God. God's DNA spiral is built
in our innermost being. The spiraling staircase in Jacob's Dream led to heaven.
We are hardwired to commune with God right down to our DNA,
even in our dreams.Dreaming is part of the human and the divine
experience. When Jacob awoke he said,
"surely the Lord is in this place; and I did not know it."
God lives in our best dreams.
