MY NEW YEARS' WISH

I felt the cold air and saw the bright light,
and heard a sweet voice that said “ hey tessy
ask me anything you want and I’ll give you,
as you’ve thought and unnecessarily fought for.”
As I opened my mouth to speak, my heart beat felt alive
So I calmed down a little knowing I couldn’t have died
and this is what I said .
“I wish for love and a sincere heart
For all those I care about, that listens to my chat.
I wish for more colours’ and more light
So it reflects and there’s more and more.
I wish for that “child” to come out
From all those that need them
So that what they saw would make them stronger
I wish a bed and breakfast for all those without enough
So they can look forward to returning “home”
I wish to see in everybody’s’ face
My muse and how to put it into shape
So that if there’s a need, there’ll be a change
I wish that the end of the rainbow is closer
So we can stop the chasing and start the living
I wish to see in everyone’s eyes I look
Hope and trust and a reason to celebrate
I wish all loopholes be filled
At a point there ought to be no bumps
I also wish he would make her smile
And they will be there for them
For the sake of what makes the world go round.”


By this time the angel was sitting
Looking at me like I’ve talked plenty but not enough,
So he leaned to me and said with a smile
“You wished for him, for her, and them,
Surely there is something you wish for yourself.”
Even as he knew the answer I still replied
“I’ve got you here; I know all is squared,
How could I want anything more?
With you ALL IS WELL.
