The fight continues. The Power of an Angel
The Power of an Angel pt.2

Monster was still alive. The blast had sent his torn up body into a grocery store. Small bits of white flames ate at his left shoulder, the crown of his hood, and left knee. Other than that, bits of his body were missing and his cape was full of holes now. He was bleeding profusely from opened wounds marked all over his body. Once the tiny flames died, Monster let out a low groan. His body slacked against boxes of fruits and vegetables. The store's alarm rang loudly, a burden to his ears.

Julia sat still, silent, and in great fear. She waited there, strained to hear niceties of the fight. She listened to Monster's grunts and body beaten into something metallic, probably a car, disfigured by the pummeling force of the angel's fist. She cried softly, afraid for her tortured demonic friend. She couldn't hear their brief moments of conversation but tuned into the action. Someone attacked and the other dodged. Ironically, she prayed deeply into Monster's success when she recoiled to another of his grunts, this one even more painful.

Her cheeks stained with more tears as she hugged herself even more. Shivered to the cold, wet alley she was placed in, she waited for a minute for any more action until she heard a heart wrenched scream. Her own heart nearly caved in when she realized it wasn't Monster's. Was it one of those creatures he summons? Indeed it was the summoned nightmare gave the angel a hard time. She couldn't help but feel happy even when she heard an explosion. But once she heard the angel's voice again, her mood shifted to the worst. There was a standstill for a moment until then, a huge explosion rocked Julia.

It shook her along with the building she sat next to. It even loosened a few bricks, lodged them free to fall around her. Luckily she was not struck by any. Julia could only hug herself and pray some more for Monster's safety. But instead she heard that dreadful voice of an angel. What he said made Julia release a sob and cry silently. Minutes passed until someone finally interrupted her.

"You okay miss?" It was the angel.

Julia didn't respond, in fact she hoped he would leave her alone. She hoped that he would just go and enjoy his victory. She hoped that Monster would spring back into action and they ran away together but none of those happened.

"I understand this must be a scary situation for you. Don't worry, the demon is gone. You're safe now." He reassured her but even more tears fell. Bust-it smirked, he seen this bunch of times. A damsel in distress goes through a horrible life scarring experience. The angel saves her from the demon and his job to coax her out of the terror of the situation she was just in. With a little more coaxing and smooth talking he might get laid pretty soon.

"Why," she sobbed.

Bust-its smile didn't falter at all. "We all ask that sometimes. Why would you go through something like this? Those things…they're nothing but monsters. I hope I came in time to help you. I'll keep you safe from now on." The last line was always a hooker.

"No," Julia responded when she raised her head. Her hair a mess, her cheeks stained with heavy doses of tears, her eyes white and glossy. "Why did you kill him? He didn't do anything to anyone!" Julia screamed.

"Whoa." This was something way different than what Bust-it was use to. He wasn't sure what to say when he was hit in the side, a devastating force that sent him aloft in the air. The jolt of pain left his ragdoll body spinning around the air. He landed harshly on the street, rolled to a stop. Bust-it looked up painfully and there, thirty yards away was the demon, a demonic war hammer in his hands. Skulls decorated its hem and pole, spikes protruded around the two flat faces of the hammer.

"I'm not dead yet." Monster said weakly, a trail of blood followed him. His body ragged along with his clothes. His hood ripped apart from the top and sides. His cape drilled with holes and shredded at the bottom.

"Monster," Julia screamed in joyous happiness, she jumped up on her sore feet. She found her way towards the demon, giving him an excited embrace. Her grip loosened when she felt the warm wetness of his soaked clothes, soaked in blood. "Monster you're-"

"I know…stay here Julia." Monster spoke strictly neutral. But even Julia could hear the tint of anger in his voice.

"Please…don't-"

"I'm sorry." He spoke lowly before removing himself from her grasp. "Get back into the alley." He didn't mean to make it sound harsh. Julia knew that but she felt hurt anyway. Monster walked a slow, narrow line straight to Bust-it.

"You're name Monster aye?" Bust-it climbed to his feet, stretched, ready for another round. "Apro-" He didn't have time to finish when he ducked under a powerful swing. The sudden gush of wind broke his composure, placing Bust-it into an uncomfortable position. Monster twisted on his heels, widened his stance. He stomped his foot upon the ground, twisted his hips, legs, and body with the full swing of his hammer back at Bust-it. With extraordinary athleticism Bust-it found his equilibrium in time, leaped into the air as the hammer missed him by an inch. Again, a strong wave of air followed past Bust-its feet. Monster freed his right hand from the handle. His left arm maintained the weapon's momentum but didn't have time for another swing.

Monster leaped back as Bust-it fell upon him. The disk on his right fist spun fierce and bright, charged with power. His fist collided with the concrete. It rippled and crumbled under the tension. A shockwave ran through the ground and broke it apart. Huge chunks of concrete blasted into the air, becoming deadly fragments that shot at Monster. His cape shielded him, devouring the concrete. Bust-it stood there inside the two feet deep crater. "I guess it's all serious now." His grin rarely faltered.

"Whatever." Monster grasped the handle with both hands. He lifted it above his head, leaped at Bust-it with every attention to crush him into the ground. Bust-it didn't back away, cocked back his right fist and drilled it into the head of the hammer. A whiplash of energy released between demon and angel but within seconds Monster's side faltered. The hammer crumbled under the power of Bust-its fist, driven through like a drill. Monster watched his weapon get smashed apart leaving him completely defenseless.

"Strike 3, you're out!" Bust-it leaped forward, closed the distance in an instance. His arm packed into his side, a loaded gun shot into Monster's gut before he could react. Without much resistance, the fist blew through his body, out his gut. Blood burst out of Monster's back and mouth.

Monster roared in pain, a hellish bellow out from his appearing mouth. Its smile flipped into horrendous gaped contortion, voiced his complete and utter pain. Monster squirmed, writhed to escape. He wanted to run and pull himself away from the angel, gather his breath. But all this did was increase the pain, the angel's arm pierced through his insides. Bust-it simply grinned, his attire stained with demon blood. With a puddle of red at their feet, Monster's futile struggles began to die out.

"You done," Bust-it asked, he cocked his head to the side, his grin turned to a smirk. He received Monster's gasps for air, struggled to keep conscious. "You're close to being dead, if not, you're definitely wounded." Bust-it chuckled cruelly. He lifted Monster off his feet. Monster responded with more heart wrenched screams. The pain was excruciating for the demon. From humans, mosquitos bite at best but against these angels, unimaginable.

Streams of blood flowed down Bust-its arm, dripped onto the ground but he laughed. Slowly, he lowered the demon back to the ground, stuck his face close to his. "Now here are my choices. I either pull my arm out with your spine or…I give you a chance for another round." Bust-it considered the choices as Monster calmed. His breath faltered constantly, a fight for each one. Bust-it sighed and threw Monster against a brick wall. His body crunched against the wall before he fell to the floor. Monster coughed, sputtered, his guts spilled to the floor.

Julia leaned against a wall and listened. She stifled a cry from Monster's scream. She held her ears but could feel his suffering. His screams of pain stabbed deep into her heart. Her knees wobbled, her legs weak. She felt woozy, sick, hungry, and everything else you could say about a malnourished girl. She was close to fainting if it wasn't for sheer will. Once his screams died down, Julia bit her lip as she began to walk towards the noise. Her hand slid against the wall, she walked blind and brave. "Monster, please stay alive." She sobbed softly.

Neither Bust-it nor Monster saw her slow gait towards them. But in the mean time Bust-it stood over Monster's withered body. "I guess you got nothing left in you." Bust-it seemed disappointed when he lifted his foot ready to bring it down. Monster rolled to his right, his right hand cupped his stomach, his mouth formed and opened. Bust-it paused in mid motion. A small black sphere spat out of the demon's mouth. Wings popped out of the black ball followed by a brown piece of twine. It then formed two beady red eyes and a hellish mouth of tiny sharp teeth.

A shrill of laughter escaped its crooked mouth it as flapped up to Bust-its face. The twin on its top lighted in a glowing red sparkle. "Ready to go boom," it shrieked with laughter.

"Boom…what the hell?" Bust-it asked confused. Boom! A dark, red explosion of a decent magnitude released. It blasted a good chunk of the building, sidewalk, and street. Julia was caught near it, knocked back on her behind. Luckily she was not seriously hurt as she quickly covered herself. Sharp pieces of debris sliced her skin, carried by a gush of wind, billowed smoke consumed her.

"MONSTER," she screamed, desperate for a hero to come save her. A hero came, whisked her out of the smoke, out into safety, in the clear cool night. Again she found herself in someone's arms…but not Monster's. "Let go of me!" She screamed.

"Jesus! Is this how you repay your savior?" Bust-it laughed, his visor completely blown away along with some of his upper attire. He was hurt, his face scarred up quite badly, a huge gash across his right eye. His attention was on the squirming woman in his arms. He didn't know how such a small thing could pack such a punch.

"I don't want you saving me. You're a murder! He didn't do anything to you!" Julia yelled enrage, her tears full throttle as she beat her tiny fist into his chest.

Bust-it sighed and released her carefully. She settled on her feet for a moment until her legs gave out. Too weak to even stand. "Something is clearly wrong with you. Whatever, that dude is dead now." As Bust-It spoke to Julia, out of the smoke came Monster, charging at full speed towards Bust-Its back. Unhinged anger and raw fury filled his eye. He ran furiously with two glossy red blades at hand. Bust-it sighed, "You got to be-" He turned just in time to find the tip of Monster's blade sliced through his chest.

"Ah!" Bust-it leaped back, his own blood spilled onto the streets and his body. He lost his footing, turned and land on his left when he felt the sting of Monster's blade slashed across his wounded back. Blood spilled even more with this fresh wound. Bust-it leaped forward, rolled off his shoulder. He pushed off his hands left hand, landed on his feet facing the demon. Monster continued his relentless attack as he ran past Julia. He heard her screams but his intent was still on to finish this fight. There was no backing out now. All he had left was will power despite the hole in his gut.

Bust-it was on the edge, ducked and dodged the quick slices and stabs of Monster's blades. His movements were slowed down from the pressure. Monster's attacks crude, ungraceful but relentless and quick. It was enough to keep Bust-it off his feet, backed him into a car. Once his back hit against the vehicle Bust-it froze, watched the blade aimed towards his head. Without much time, he snatched the blade with his right finger tips. A test of strength lasted five seconds before the angel won at the end. He redirected the blade to the right, sliced his cheek and into the car.

Not much time to take a breather, a strike fell from above. He moved to the side, the blade sliced through the car, a hot knife through butter. Monster growled as he pursued the angel. He slashed and stabbed madly at Bust-it. With a better composure Bust-it dodged the attacks with adequate efficiency, his attacks predictable. His grin returned along with his cocky attitude. He danced and slide out of Monster's attacks. He mocked him and slipped behind the slower and more hurt opponent. Monster twirled around madly, a raged animal toyed by the angel.

Bust-it made a costly mistake, backed into a light pole. The angel surprised, Monster jumped on the sight of weakness. Bust-it recovered and ducked under the blade as it sliced through the light pole. Monster was surprised, the pole fell towards him. Bust-it slipped behind the pole, Monster forced to back off. Power lines snapped, sparks fell around them but all their attention on each other. Bust-its smile grew larger, with the needed distance he grasped the pole with his right hand and lifted it up like it was nothing. Monster growled, he remembered what happened with the car. The pole was covered in a multihued light like before.

"Not again." Monster charged forward with both blades out and ready.

"Batter up," Bust-it on the other hand held the pole in both hands, readied it like a bat. He swung and caught Monster off guard. The demon had no choice but to change directions. He sliced his blades through the glowing pole. The pieces flew off and bounced across the ground. Bust-it in turn was surprised. Monster changed directions and straightened towards the angel. Bust-it, with time on the essence continued the momentum of his swing, shattered through the building behind him. He completed a three-sixty, Monster a few feet away. Just in time the pole broke out of the wall, a ton of bricks thrown at the demon.

Monster was hit a couple times and lost sight of the glowing pole. He was a two feet away, his left blade cocked back ready to stab into Bust-it. He was a second too late and hit by the relentless pole. It crushed into his side, his own bones snapped under the pressure. Compared to a bat and a ball, he was sent across the street and into a parked car. He blew into the car, smashed him and the trampled vehicle into the building. The windows shattered, the wall broke inward. Monster's body quivered but he was in too much pain to move. He looked up hazily and found the glowing pole driven into the hole in his gut, widening it. The pole pierced the car and forced them into the building. Monster screamed, wedged into crushed metal by a glowing pole, his insides burning.

Bust-it took the time to breathe. He ran his hand through his hair, evaluated his work. "Checkmate." He fell to the ground and took a seat on the curb. "Well man…that was hell of a fight. Despite the surprises and stuff I couldn't help but enjoy myself in this one. But we all know fun and games are over you know…so just die now." Bust-it spoke gingerly and coolly as if he walked away from a street fight. His eyes looked at Monster lazily but indifferent.

All of a sudden the pieces of the poles Monster cut off exploded in a brilliant white flash. It created hungry white flames that consumed nothing but street and concrete. It burned in the space between Bust-it and Monster. Monster stared shocked, scared of the outcome. His red eye looked down at the huge pole stuck into his being. His breathing ragged and struggled. The word death ran through his mind, this is more than some fantasy game where he could start over. He was fifteen and he was going to die. "I…I don't want to die." Monster spoke low. His consciousness fading, cling to life slipping away.

Bust-its smile disappeared into a sigh. "Dude…just shut up and let things be. This is how it's supposed to happen, man. Did you actually expect to win?" Bust-it asked, even with the surprise attacks it never occurred to him he would lose. It never occurred to him that he might end up dead. "Seriously…did you expect to beat me man?"

"Yes." Monster sobbed, the weight of the world crashed down upon him.

"Sorry man… fun and games are over, you're a threat to humanity so gotta send you back to where you belong. The reality is I could have killed you a long time ago but I wanted to test out my skills you know." Bust-it kept his lazy smile and watched the near dead demon. His gaze indifferent, he didn't acknowledge Monster at all. "Stated by the rules you a demon is weaker than an angel and if not…God's on my side so how can I lose?"

Monster listened to Bust-its words. His will to live slowly dispersed, came to the conclusion that this is the end. He a demon is weaker to an angel as stated by the rules. He a demon is just another monster to be slain by the power of god. He was damned from the start, "So it ends like this?"

"Well, yeah." Bust-it sighed.

"No." A third voice broke in, weak and shaky but willful. Julia, silent and focused, guided herself through sound. She reached the entrapped body of Monster, her hand slid across the carcass of the car. With amazing intuition she reached up and touched the glowing pole ready to blow. She felt a tingle of power from it. Her head eerily turned towards Monster. "You didn't do anything to deserve this Monster. All this angel, demon, God crap is bullshit." Her tears gone but cheeks still red and tainted. Her white eyes were glossy but wide and still seemingly aware. He stared into her beautiful face. His red eye shook violently. He coughed a bit more and moaned. Was she going to die with him? Was she going to be another sin to be added to his list?

Bust-it leaped to his feet shocked by the human's sudden appearance. "Jesus woman get-" It was too late, the pole flashed into a bright light. Both Monster and Bust-it screamed and a second later. Nothing happened.
