I wrote this for a friend of mine who was afraid of commiting because she had been hurt.
You're a girl trapped in a horrible place.
Tears of pain secretly roll down your face.
On your hands and your knees, cleaning up your mistakes,
You dream of the day your heart mends, not breaks.
Doing everything to please those around you,
You hurt yourself more than you mean to.
Poor Cinderella, your love will soon come
And this broken life you will grow away from.
You're a beautiful princess underneath the pain.
Some Prince will show you love again.
You peer through the dark window, waiting.
All the while, your hopes keep on fading.
Princess, your wishes are not held in vain.
In the distance, you have so much to gain.

Given the chance, dance with your Prince.
Fall in love and live happily ever after since.
Midnight doesn't come at all,
This time, you stay at the ball.
Your dreams are surely coming true,
This Prince is showing he cares for you.
In his eyes, you see his face.
Time stops and you've finally found your place.
Sweet Cinderella, you've found your Love.
A dream you only dared to dream of.
Don't run, don't leave, please... don't go!
He chases after you; an infantry in tow.
This chance you sacrifice because you fear
Of losing what you held so dear.

You're a girl trapped in a world of dreams
And nothing will ever be what it seems.
The door to your heart has been locked
Because of your love, many others did mock.
But Prince Charming a-waits at your door;
Wanting to give you so much more.
Dear Cinderella, follow your bruised heart.
You've been shattered and have fallen apart.
This life of tattered hearts and hopeless tears
Is the end and your love waits to calm your fears.
So ride away sweet Princess, and choose to be
The Cinderella that your Prince does see.
Live to the fullest your dreams of love and laughter
You have finally found your happily ever after.
