Awake or Not, Someone Learns From Someone Or Not |
A Lesson Well Learned ============================================== Amidst the deepness of my sleep, I was awakened in the night. No creature, or being, or sound, not even a ray of light. I feared for what was happening, and thought what else will be done. I felt a presence in the shadows, but for shadows there were none. How can this be I questioned: No light nor darkness too, can all of this have a meaning, can all of it really be true? Then in the stillness before me, as if they were always there, Two, No. Three figures appeared and their appearance was quite fair. It seemed as if an hour had passed and a word ha yet to be spoke. All during this time I observed them and realized it wasn't a hoax. Two of them were intertwined and always fighting with each other. But for the third, the two had respect for she was their mother. Then all at once the fighting stopped and the deafening silence broke, the first child cleared his throat and then these words he spoke. "I am the father of knowledge, and indeed all things I know, and if you desire to be like me, on knowledge you'll need to grow. For knowledge is the only thing, which a mortal soul really needs, and knowledge is the only food on which the mind can feed. Knowledge knows every detail, every aspect of everything, knowledge is never left in the dark and to knowledge I'll cling." When the first child finished speaking, the second child took his place. He too abruptly cleared his throat and he had a strange look on his face. He said: "I am the father of wisdom, which is all you'll ever need, wisdom is the only thing which will cause you to succeed. Wisdom can see through disguises, it determines what it is seeing, it finds truth in every fact, and it will make you a superior being. Wisdom is the only back stop on which the mortal man can fall, It is worth far more than knowledge and wisdom is offered to all." When the second child finished speaking, the silence had reached its peak. The echoing emptiness embodied around us, but then the mother began to speak. She said: "My sons have presented arguments and, indeed, they both have their place. But the arguments placed before you, are not even close by a trace. Knowledge and Wisdom are equally important and couldn't survive without each other. This is evidenced in my sons appearances, as they are intertwined one with another. Determine that you'll grow in both and every mystery you'll discern, you'll accomplish everything you want and you'll discover a lesson well learned." When all of the views were brought forward and all of the words were spoke, the three gradually vanished away and then I awoke. |
