BEAUTY OF FLESH DOES NOT LONG STAY

Beauty of flesh does not long stay
The firmness sags and hairs go grey

But in the sweet more beauty blooms
Within the hearts and minds rooms

Though now aged may be the face
There is now within a regal grace

Beauty now within takes true form
Lovelier than when they were born

Kind matrons do not lose beauty fair
It is in the heart and lives on in there


author's notes: they say youth is wasted on the young.
I say maturity is the best gift of the older crowd. We are
comfortable in our skin, peer pressure is a thing of the past.
We have a mature confidence that is to be desired over
the bloom of youth any day. Yes, youth was fun, but I like
where I am now. I've met some beautiful looking people who
were the biggest meanest jerks, and I've met some very
plain-looking folks who were the loveliest people. Never judge
a human by it's cover.
