I pray that I will see the light again. (Form: Decuain) |
A Future Bright I sit and watch the fragile flowers bloom; bright faces turned in worship toward the light. Their praise drifts on the air, a sweet perfume; a psalm of happiness and pure delight until, with reverence, they bow at night. My eyes begin to cloud with sorrow's pain. The sky mirrors the loss of our birthright, the night claiming once more its dark domain, as nature yields at last to man's disdain. I pray that I will see the light again. The flowers of the earth dim in the gloom, beneath the ebon shadow of their plight. Our seeds of ignorance portend their doom. We fail to see them slowly fade from sight as we delay the choice of wrong or right. A spark of hope survives and I remain expectant of a future that is bright based on belief that I cannot explain. I know it is a goal we can attain. I've faith that I will see the light again.
