Did you ever know how much love a puppy has for its owner? |
A poodle pup was born one night Inside a puppy mill Golden red, a true beauty As beauty was a rare skill. A young man came to pet store the next day, To find the playful pup asleep there He took the pup and muzzled it With little or no care. He went to the register to purchase his find And paid the right wad of money And looked to the pup whose eyes Shined colors of milk and honey. He stuffed the pup with food day in and day out Until she was ready to compete in many dog shows And groomed her puffy coat so well So that it always glows. Many days passed after that She still loved her owner dearly Shame that through loveable dog eyes She never saw her greedy owner clearly. She won in all the dog shows current All earning gleaming medals Until one day during one show Her owner pushed off her last petals. She was very old by now Five years to be exact Still loving her owner through all the lonely days With her owner never to interact. Most of the day her home was a cage kennel Until the 'big show' was beginning She always thought of her 'loving' owner Whose only real concern was winning. This was her first loss When her poodle legs began to stumble It was then that it occurred The audience began to mumble She looked up weakly at her owner's face His eyes were filled with rage Fear of his horrid disapproval On this animal theater stage Apparently, she knew, she would be in for it Her time was almost up soon Her owner swore and cursed and yelled His voice like a monsoon There she collapsed onto the floor For everyone to see Her owner, embarrassed, dragged her away Before the judges could disagree Backstage the tired poodle was kicked So tired she couldn't fight back She still loved her owner as much as before No way could she attack He then took her into the grooming parlor And unevenly trimmed her hair No longer was it puffy and glowing Instead made many glare After ruining her prize-winning coat Her punched his fist into her right eye And after five minutes of air Round it was the color of black dye When the two got back home from the dog show The poodle awaited a sign of affection She still showed unconditional love to her owner Even unaware of her obvious rejection After it was cleared she was now retired The poodle was starved and beaten Soon got thin and newcomer stomach parasites Were planned on how she'd be eaten Still desperate for her owner's love She was sent out to live on the road On this journey she traveled alone And carried an emotionally heavy load A few years later, her owner died From being shot on a police carchase You'd probably think he'd deserve it After being such a disgrace His poodle soon found out Still happy and full of love Her old, limp body gliding through the air Like the wings of a snowy dove Soon she found her owner's grave And out of energy and breath Lay right beside his tombstone And there she stayed until her death. Why hate something that will love you forever? STOP ANIMAL ABUSE |
