She had thrown me away. She said she never loved me ... then she sent this message ...
She had thrown me away. She said she never loved me, and did not have feelings for me. She said do not write, do not call, do not email, and do not text. Months passed then she sent this message:

“Before this hurricane hits, before the lights go out, before the phone service stops, I want to say be safe and I love you.”

The Hurricane

Her words made me angry.
Her words made me cry.
Her words made me wonder.
Her words made me hopeful.

The winds howled in my mind.
The rain flowed from my eyes.
The waves thundered in my chest.

Her words made me remember.
Her words made me miss her.
Her words made me want her.
Her words made me need her.

The winds swirled my memory.
The rain washed my vision.
The waves flooded my heart.

Her words made me call her.
Her words made me see her.
Her words made me hold her.
Her words made me kiss her.

The winds tore my thoughts.
The rain stung my sight.
The waves drowned my heart.

Her words made me angry.
Her words made me cry.
Her words made me hate her.
Her words made me love her.

The winds destroyed my memories.
The rain destroyed my visions.
The waves destroyed my spirit.

The Hurricane attacked.
The Hurricane ruined.
The Hurricane faded.
The destruction remains.
