Jack of Fools

A Player played,
The Queen of Hearts,
By her love the Jack of Fools,
And the King of Clubs,
And a Spade thrown ten,
Did laugh at Red card’s woe.
A Diamond pitied,
Another spat,
The Queen of Hearts
Was cruel,
But nothing said,
No action caused
Pain like the Jack of Fools.
Revenge was sought,
And Wars were fought,
And Conscious held
Little sway,
The Red Queen swore,
And little stayed,
Safe and from her way.
From hence and forth,
Heed my words,
And know that as a rule,
You watch your step,
And make not the mistake,
As did the Jack of Fools.
