Johnny Forgotten

Johnny was forgotten, so long ago,
When the land was cold, covered with snow.

A life carefully lived, no risk he would take,
With all other people, no connections would make.

Afraid to take chances, with his life or his face,
Left alone on an island amongst the whole human race.

Even love could not tempt him to give up this life,
Not the promise of children nor hopes of a wife.

And now a long life seems empty and shallow,
When the grave hosts no tears, no feelings of sorrow.

Just yesterday buried, not a visitor was gotten,
In no time at all, Johnny was forgotten.
