The Easter Egg Shop

The Easter Egg Shop was so busy.
It was enough to make one dizzy.
Orders for colored eggs kept coming.
The bunnies were painting and humming.

Things were going quite well indeed!
Bunnies turned out more eggs than they’d need.
Green eggs, purple eggs, blue eggs with spots.
Red eggs, yellow eggs, pink eggs with dots.

All at once the machine gave a “POP”!
The eggs in the hopper would not drop!
“What has gone wrong?” Easter Bunny cried.
“We need the eggs this machine supplied!”

Worker bunnies went for their tool kits.
Easter Bunny tried hard to fix it.
They began to replace all the parts,
After carefully reading their charts.

They cleaned and rinsed and greased and oiled.
All through the day and night they toiled.
Buttons were checked, levers were tested.
The work was hard and they weren’t rested.

Orders for eggs kept right on coming
But the egg machine wasn’t running.
Easter Bunny was getting quite tense.
A broken machine just made no sense.

He called Bobby Bunny to fix it.
Then Ryan Rabbit worked a bit.
Next Ken Cottontail gave it a try.
It wouldn’t start. He didn’t know why.

Easter Bunny was getting real mad.
A new machine he would have to add.
He couldn’t get a new one in time,
To fill the orders that came online.

The more he thought, the madder he got.
Easter Bunny was hotter than hot.
He gave his machine a great big kick.
All of a sudden he heard a click.

Lights came on and wheels began moving.
It looked like things were now improving.
The worker bunnies started cheering,
Then colored dye they took to smearing.

Easter Bunny had tears in his eyes,
Watching bunnies with their paint supplies.
Green eggs, purple eggs, blue eggs with spots.
Red eggs, yellow eggs, pink eggs with dots.

Easter would arrive in a few days.
There’d be plenty of eggs, as always.
All of the egg orders would be filled.
All of his customers would be billed.

When the Easter Egg Shop closed that night,
Easter Bunny gave thanks for the sight.
Thanks for the bunnies who’ve worked so hard,
Painting eggs that were stacked in the yard.

Thanks for a machine that worked so fine,
Making Easter eggs one at a time.
Green eggs, purple eggs, blue eggs with spots.
Red eggs, yellow eggs, pink eggs with dots.
