It's Spring

It's Spring; isn't it?
      Then, why is the furnace going non-stop?

It's Spring; isn't it?
      Then, why is there white stuff floating through the air?

It's Spring; isn't it?
      Then, why is there frost on the windows?

It's Spring; isn't it?
      Then, why are the branches barren and brown?

It's Spring; isn't it?
      Then, why am I feeling so blue?

Spring, Spring:  Where are you?
  I'm tired of the cold!
  I'm sick of shoveling snow!
  I hate scraping frost!
  I want to see some color!

Spring, with yellow daffodils,
                  red tulips,
                  green grass,
                  dew-covered leaves,
            and pink and white cherry blossoms!

Spring, When will you come?
Spring, Why aren't you here?

The only reply: the soft crunch of snow.
