Whatever happened to that Vietnam vet.
Did he just disappear have you any regret.
He stood up when asked now a long time ago.
He went off to fight he didn't say no.

You sent him to war you needed him then.
Far too many men came back not again.
Those who came home found the states torn apart.
They were blamed for a war that they didn't start.

Spit on and shunned they were thrown away.
What happened to them where are they today.
All these years later they are now old men.
Forever dealing with what happened back then.

What would you say if you were the one.
To go off to war to carry the gun.
Do all you could do your very best.
Return home to find spit on your chest.

What would you do where would you go.
To hide from a world that hated you so.
How would you feel how would you react.
If those you fought for didn't care you came back.
