Better Is One Day?

This is the result of yet another hymn that has been sung many times in our church.  Each time I've heard the song the Lord has nudged me a little more and has finally come to a head in the culmination of an acrostic the size of which I have only surpassed on one other occasion, to the best of my knowledge, when I did the Alphabet of Christ in 2 parts from A to Z.  I'll send you a link to that if you wish through email or may post it here if there is enough feedback to do so.

Better is One Day?

Better are thousands of days in Your presence than one
day anywhere else.  How can we be satisfied with one day
in Your house when there are thousands of days that are
still available?  Better are thousands of days in Your presence
than any other day outside Your presence.

Better are thousands of days, a virtual
Eternity within Your presence and
Then the next gets only better and
Truer, so that when we are in the world
Everyone says, "there goes one who
Revels in the presence of the Lord."

A day in Your presence; in Your house;
Requires a desire to press closer in.  An
Even longer time in Your presence is

The desire of my heart oh Lord.
Here Lord is my pen, ink, fingers, and hand
Open and at Your bidding; ready to
Unfold before You the meager possessions.
Solid and tangible, and the Spiritual essence.
All that is me Lord, You have created and
Now Lord we are in this land You have laid out.  We
Do seek to know more of You and Your
Servants will be at the ready to meet You for
         Better Are Thousands of days in Your presence
         than one day elsewhere.

Oh Lord, mighty is Your love and grace, You
Favor us with Your presence this day and
         
Dear Lord we seek and bask in Your
Amazing presence and lift our praise to
You, for You are worthy of all honor,
See now Your children calling you GREAT!

In total adoration and acceptance of Your love
Newer are Your miracles every day and

Yes we can step forward into the world with
Only Your full armor upon us and with
Unction in our hearts to let others know the
Redeemer seeks to have unbroken fellowship anew.

Placing the Son upon the cross, You knew was necessary
         so eternal life may be possible.
'Rapped in swadding clothes oh so frail the
Eternal Savior took His place in the plan and
Served You with heart, soul, mind and body.
Every day we hear this story, how much more
New is the desire to also serve our parts in the
Creator's plan.  For Better Are Thousands of Days in
         Your Presence.
Ever Lord will Your servant seek

To find new ways to enter into Your presence.
Holy Lord, as we walk among others may
A sense of Your presence lead them to wonder,
"Now what makes him/her smile like that?"
         Better Are Thousands of Days in Your
         Presence Than

One day elsewhere, and Your servant in Christ
Now asks the question, beloved!  Have you
Ever wondered what it would be like to be in His presence
         not one day, or week, or even month, but thousands of

Days in His wondrous presence?
All of your desires and concerns will shift to seeing
Your fellow man through the eyes of God.

Each man, woman, and child becomes precious,
Loved, and worthy of the respect and care God sees in His creation.
Seeing others through His eyes changes your perspective and
Even your outlook on life will change.  There
Will be the desire to
Help others see His love for them and boldly follow God's plan
Even if it causes you to step out of your comfort zone and
Relieve the needs of others in far away lands, or at the
         doorstep of your nearest homeless shelter.
Elevate your perspective, beloved, look into His face, you will see too

Better Are Thousands of Days in Your Presence Than One Day Elsewhere.
