My contemplation of where my life will go.
My destination

I wait for my train,
At a crowded station.
I'm part of a dying breed,
In a wasted generation.

I’m sorry for the dullness,
I'm sorry for the rant.
I’m sorry I'm not something more,
But my opportunities are scant.

People around me are too dumb,
To notice their lives fade away.
I can see it coming,
Disappointment on my dying day.

I'm the only one looking,
And asking “Why? Why? Why?”
I'm the only one waiting for an answer,
Silence is my reply.

I'm on a sinking ship,
The captain is a fool.
So are the other passengers,
Waiting for someone else to rule.

I can’t get off,
I don’t want this destination.
I’m stuck here forever,
In horrid aberration.

I will go to my end,
Feeling I was held back.
Angry at everybody,
Till it all turns black.

I can see it coming,
The dullness kills my brain.
Waiting in anticipation,
Wondering if I’m sane.

I shouldn’t be here waiting,
Staring into the void.
But I am senseless,
And my mind destroyed.

I travel down the winding road,
And come to a dead end.
I’ll look back on my life,
And wonder which way I’ll transcend.

I can’t go to Heaven,
Because I’ll be all alone.
I won’t go to Hell,
I have no sins to atone.

When the last stop comes,
I’ll step off gladly.
I deserve this place,
I should have fought it madly.

I should have pressed the button,
And broken from the norm.
I should have walked my way,
And faced the coming storm.

But if I begin to wander and begin to stray,
Who will I say goodbye to on my final day?
Isn't it better to be part of the flock?
Than attempt to break the lock.

So I'll stay in the crowd if I'm able,
Then my life can be stable.
"Misery" will not be my final word,
For these fears are absurd.

When I meet the Reaper and I leave this place,
I'll treat him like an old friend with a smile on my face.
