I realise it's been awhile, and I'm not done; please let me know what you think? |
Tears Though these words may come and go in silence, My heart pours out the same – With fights between friends and pain amongst families, What can anyone say that would get through easily – With speech of tolerance and peace leading us into war, The only thing holding things together is a relationship that most will never understand: With “stone-wallers” upset, or people who think color matters – People who won’t let others speak without feeling attacked – People who attack under wrong authority – How can anyone hope to make a difference with a fear so strong? Fear of rejection, fear of being shut down before you get started – Fear of being betrayed for your beliefs, fear of being shunned for who you are – People say, “if that’s what it’s about I don’t want to know,” Yet they look at false profits, they look at those who would judge them, But they won’t look for those who are true, those who would show the truth – Every time someone judges wrongly, or lives opposite their words,, Hurts those of us who would try, who would be true – So I ask you this, “When is our time of tolerance?” You can be tolerated; you can be who you are, But don’t shut me down without first getting to know me for who I truly am… |
