Beguiled by guilt
I mend my quilt
Dreading the night
Without my knight

I never believed
You’d be relieved
To see me leave,
Now I understand
You could not stand
My unkempt demand.

My love was fraught
With lots of rot,
Yet I thought
T’was strong and right
To keep us tight
Without much might.

I know, my knight
My Love is night,
Not mighty tight
To keep a fight,
A heart contrite
I offer tonight.

Relieve my guilt
And save my quilt
From tears tonight,
Your love, my knight
I’ll cherish till death
