poem about a crush
First love butterflies,
Do they ever go away?
I don’t care though,
I think I want them to stay.

To feel my pulse speed up,
And try not to trip,
Identify the rush of adrenaline,
That makes my heart skip.

I don’t even know you
As much as I want to.
But something tells me,
To follow through.

The way you talk,
The things you say,
The way your eyes,
Never seem to stray.

The way your name
Rolls off my lips
I didn’t know this
kind of crush could exist

Nervous sweaty palms,
Restless shaking knees,
I seem to be lacking
Any formal expertise.

Not knowing what to do,
When you come five feet near.
Not quite able to make
Myself seem more sincere.

You’re probably thinking
That just about now,
I’m just a silly girl
Who is a mere child.

I don’t know what
I’m thinking about,
That’s what you’re saying,
Your mind filled with doubt.
