The Light That Leads Us Through

This is a poem,
For the lonely at heart.
Who all know the ending,
But forgot how to start.

With a plan that's simple,
And a heart that's pure -
There is never too much,
That one can't endure.

There's light in our souls,
But we usually forget.
We choose only to focus
On the pain and regret.

Through yesterdays and tomorrows,
We lose the power of today.
We are constantly trying
To find our way.

The path is in our hearts,
If we truly look inside.
It's time that we all step out in the sun,
And never again try to hide.

If you hide from yourself -
Then you'll never know.
That our hearts only bleed,
So that they can grow.

With a taste that's bittersweet,
The truth will set you free.
When you stop pretending,
And learn to "just be."

Who you are is truly beautiful,
Whether you see it now or not.
We have actually always known this,
But somewhere along we forgot.

The light still burns,
And the flame still glows.
You have so much to say,
But nobody knows.

So let it all out,
Why not start today?
With the fire in our hearts -
We'll light each other's way!
