Peace Over Jerusalem

YAHveh bless Jerusalem in the year 5739,
May Your mercy be great and Your peace divine.

Within your walls, Oh Jerusalem may love abound.
May He hear your petition, let the shophar sound.

May your offerings be fragrant and pleasing to His nose.
May He delight in His first fruits, the people He chose.

Jerusalem, bless YAHveh today and always, evermore,
And may His blessings pour out from His riches in store.

A prayer for Jerusalem from Psalms 122:6-9:6

ו שַׁאֲלוּ, שְׁלוֹם יְרוּשָׁלִָם; יִשְׁלָיוּ, אֹהֲבָיִךְ. 6 Pray for the peace of Jerusalem; may they prosper that love thee.

ז יְהִי-שָׁלוֹם בְּחֵילֵךְ; שַׁלְוָה, בְּאַרְמְנוֹתָיִךְ. 7 Peace be within thy walls, and prosperity within thy palaces.

ח לְמַעַן, אַחַי וְרֵעָי-- אֲדַבְּרָה-נָּא שָׁלוֹם בָּךְ. 8 For my brethren and companions' sakes, I will now say: 'Peace be within thee.'

ט לְמַעַן, בֵּית-יְהוָה אֱלֹהֵינוּ-- אֲבַקְשָׁה טוֹב לָךְ. 9 For the sake of the house of the LORD our God I will seek thy good.
