Be strong enough to walk away.
Walking down the corridor,

I feel nothing but your hate upon my back,

It's cold breath sending shivers down my spine,

It's hard heart cracked.

And I'm thankful for it.

I never wanted to be there forever,

I told you that it's only now or never,

You made your choice,

Don't try and blame your misery on me,

I warned you.

I'm like a gypsy,

Roaming endlessly to find the home and freedom,

Once promised to me.

It's a 'hard knock life' to say the least,

But I'm strong enough.

Are you?

The tides ever turning,

The music in my mind becoming ever wilder,

Yearning for the things I have lost.

A sense of home,

Somewhere to belong,

Something to fall back upon,

A freedom that let's me spread my wings,

And let the wind carry me wherever it may lead.

You said you wanted to be there,

You said you'd roam with me,

And give me that home,

That freedom.

You lied.

I let myself be lead into a prison inside my own head,

Trapping me in myself,

Chaining me in my fears,

Locking me in doubts,

I'd never had before.

Locked in my own perfect paradise,

I wanted to give up my search,

My longing,

And stay here,

In this place,

Forever.

But then I woke up.

And realized it was all a lie,

Your way of giving me what I wanted,

Making me believe in your twisted ways,

Freedom is not here,

Home is not here,

And so I leave.

Will I never cease to roam?

Will I never find my home?

Are my wings to be clipped forever?

A wall between my dreams and me?

Keep your perfect reality,

Nothing about me revolves around this world's practicality.

I'm finding my own way.

I never wanted to be there forever,

I told you that it's only now or never,

You made your choice,

Don't try and blame your misery on me,

I warned you.

I'm like a gypsy,

Roaming endlessly to find the home and freedom,

Once promised to me.

It's a 'hard knock life' to say the least,

But I'm strong enough.

Are you?

Am I?

I am.
