A Midnight Serenade

A breath of air; one whisper carries,

born to the unforgotten breeze.

The night is calm but softer still,

softer is the song it brings.


Of perfect pitch and rhyme and meter

one small song for her this night,

a love affair long forgotten,

hollowed by the city lights.


I wish to bring it's meaning back,

this fair song I'd love to sing

and so I look into your eyes..

deep brown eyes,
