Poem on future self goals.
Sweep me away in the company of the current
Allow me to calmly enjoy the future
The past has made me who I am
In he future, I will become who I want to be
However, I may only become older
Frightened by the consideration of success and failure
The only true hope I have is to eventually live in the moment
To imagine back and forward while saying “I am ok with that”

To keep my mind in a state of serenity and clarity
To keep my soul rich in love and honesty
To pry my eyes open to all that I have not seen
To clamp my mouth shut to only listen
To truly listen and become a listener

Sit me down and hold my hand
Remind me that no human has gotten it right
Remind me that I cannot fail
That there is no promise in time
That tangible only describes inanimate features
And that what I prey to cling onto is bigger
And well, when I do pray it is heard undoubtedly

Attract me to the glow as if I were a fly
To repel the non-sense addictions that my mind has created
Allow me to run my life knowing I’m subordinate
To only blame myself - knowing I am boss
Tie me down to understand that everyday is open
But after I realize, cut me loose, i must proceed
