continuation of part 3
Annie...or rather 'Dawn'
Was confused
By what she was feeling
She had wanted to meet 'Sam'
But the thought of him being here
Suddenly scared her!

It was like
A love-hate connection
She yearned to get to know him better
And yet, there was just something that
Bothered her...
Perhaps it was just the fact
That she had suddenly lost
That 'safe haven' that she had worked
So hard to create
Instincts told her...
Best to leave well enough alone!

Seeking the freedom that sailing brought her
She took 'Free Spirit' out for a quick sail
She hadn't realized that she had been followed
From her home to the Marina
Nor did she realize that someone
Was watching her from a safe distance

Sailing...how could she describe it to anyone...
You just had to experience it for yourself
She loved the fact that
Wind cooled her skin...
That she toned her muscles
While doing something that she not only enjoyed
But also felt proud about.

Her goof of a husband
Would have been quite surprised
To see the new Annie
She was strong and confident now
No more frail little waif
Waiting for the next tirade to begin! !

She had been lost in thought
And hadn't realized that the wind had picked up
Skies had darkened...
Hey! ! ! What was this
Not typical weather for the island...
This was a freak storm that had blown in...
A catamaran is usually quite easy to handle
But not in a storm
Before she had grasped the whole situation
Waves were lapping over the bow
'Free Spirit' was being tossed about like a rag doll! !
Annie fought hard to keep her upright...
But in one quick gust...she was down! ! !

She still hadn't had a chance to get a handle
On what was going on...
She knew her beloved sailboat
Had capsized
And she was clinging to the mast for dear life! ! !

The next moment that she could remember
A strong hand was pulling her
Away from 'Free Spirit'
Onto the deck of a larger power boat...

To Be Continued...
