A poem I wrote about a bad dream.
Whispers from across the room.
Are the watching me?
Do they know my secret?
I musn't show emotion,
no one can know!

I have a deep, dark secret,
only two people know.
I hope he doesn't reveal
what we've been hiding.

Nine months have passed,
time has marched on so fast.
It's time to tell the world
what I've been hiding.

"Honey this isn't your baby!"
I exclaimed to my husband.
Shocked looks arose in the air.
I must explain,
he must know the truth.

"I met someone.
Someone better.
Someone who can provide.
It's time for you to leave.
Go."

I jumped up,
sweating profusely.
A dream.
It was all a dream.
My stomach was flat,
no baby inside.

But wait...
What is this pain?
It's so sharp,
so strong.

"She's awake!"
I hear vaguely.
"What happened?"
I moaned.
"We had a car accident.
You've been in a coma for ten years."
"My baby!"  I scream.

"What baby?"
is the reply.
