Party in the Park


Come gather round and listen,
There’s a party in the park.
Song, dance and music playing
Till well after it’s gone dark.

They’ve revamped our old bandstand
And we’re really very proud.
People come from miles around
Just to be part of the crowd.

You may think it old fashioned
But bear with me for a while,
And we’ll listen to some tunes
That will never lose their style.

They’ve replaced the worn old bridge
That the river washed away.
I stood on it to test it
And it didn’t even sway!

We can take a gentle stroll
On a sunny summer night,
And, resting on a park bench
We’ll put all the world to right.

We’ll watch the children playing
And lovers walk hand in hand
Till summer turns to autumn
And it’s gold colours the land.
