Written in the Ae Freslighe poetry style, trying to cope with the need to belong
In this garden arable,
Petunias rampant growing,
Empty, hardly bearable,
One patch of earth is showing.

Sew a flower tropical
In fertile soil uncovered.
Marvelous and topical,
This beauty rediscovered.

Breathy gusts toss narcissist
Heads, displaying their petals.
Withered seedlings coexist-
Not one among them settles.

Brave, defying gravity,
Brilliant petals now extend,
Furnishing a cavity.
Sweet fragrence will not offend.

Wise petunias acquiesce
To ask at last a pardon,
Save the name with politesse
Of the arable garden.

Just for any who are interested, the Ae Freslighe uses a very strict format: seven syllables to a line, arranged in quartets, odd line numbers ending in a three-syllable word and even numbers in two-syllables, with the rhyming scheme ABAB CDCD etc. Thank you to sandi_c for finding all this out!
