I dreamt my best friend died, and this was the result.
Built me up and tore me down
In shallow water I’ll still drown
But as I scream you can’t be found
I’m slipping, falling through.

So from my dream I jolt awake
You see, at night I’m prone to shake
Without you here I’ll always ache
My sleepless nights are proof.

Soon they’ll lay you in the ground
And I will watch without a sound
I’ve burned my ivory wedding gown
It’s all that I could do.

And for all the love we planned to make
We knew our bones were grown to break
Love of mine, make no mistake
I’m dying without you.
