The fight of a lone candle, inspiring in times of despair |
Darkness to Light She lit a candle, the darkness did scare, The loneliness closed in, no hope but despair. The flame crackled, it flickered a little, It fought the wind, but it did not melt away. Her heart ached, but no sign of relief, Her mind pondered, it was only despair. The dark night, long and whistling, Raced through, the willows trail. She gazed at the flame, suddenly The drop trickled, and slid down. It fringed the base, and something within, Stirred, her eyes watched in amazement, The steady blue flame, it had made its Presence felt, standing straight and tall, The wind in the willows, whistled, But to no avail, its warmth spreading, Its glow tearing the night, yet forging ahead, The struggle was over, the fears were none With head held high, it fought darkness, Now it showed pride, the fearless one. It burned through the night, and More to spare, it befriended her through Fears, a true friend indeed, for now, As daybreak came in, the light of hope It spent itself, in friendship and warm comfort She remembered its kindness, courage Not in vain, it taught her to fight And never give up, for remember life, It’s a journey for the Fearless and Brave. |
