This is a poem about where I'm from. |
Where I’m from there are no problems, people don’t seek help Everyone is the picture of perfection in itself Where I’m from people don't get sad or for that matter depressed People never lay in bed all day they get up and get dressed There are no broken homes and kids don’t run away No such thing as crime, criminals, or rainy days Where I’m from kids don’t drink and drive, snort, sniff, or get blown Parents are always right and every house is a home People don’t commit suicide and homicides don’t take place Life is a walk in the park, no longer a rat race Your father doesn’t lift his hand to your mother and certainly not to you There is no such thing as physical, mental, and definitely no verbal abuse Where I’m from there isn’t an illness Tylenol can’t heal People don’t lie or cheat so why else would they steal No child without a father and no babies having babies No parents questioning what if, if only, or just maybe A mind is never wasted and always put to work Your boss is just the nicest guy no longer a big, fat jerk Where I'm from hope does more than float, it washes ashore Opportunity never knocks it walks right in the door Where I’m from no, stop, and don’t are words you never have to repeat Somehow the grass manages to stay green on both sides of the street. |
